Audio Questions

Most of the courses and lectures presented on this site—some dating back to the early 1970s—were not professionally recorded or restored. As a result, while listening to these recordings, you may notice sonic artifacts such as any of the following:

  • Tape hiss
  • Room noise caused by microphone placement
  • High pitches generated by the recording equipment
  • Distortion from incorrect microphone levels
  • Shifts in volume and timbre
  • Fluctuations in speed
  • Spliced and overdubbed audio
  • Missing audio
  • Reverse tape sounds
  • Digital artifacts from previous audio conversions

However, the vast majority of the audio is completely understandable and for most listeners Dr. Peikoff’s content and presentation should shine through any imperfections.
